Removing a CloudConnect Controller, Agent, or Trace

Removing Controllers, Agents, or Traces from the CloudConnect Portal

To remove a Controller, Agent, or trace from CloudConnect, begin by navigating to the CloudConnect tab in the CloudConnect portal.

From the CloudConnect tab, click the + by any Controller, Agent, or trace and click the red Stop or DELETE buttons to permanently remove them from your account.

You can always restart a trace from the CloudConnect portal. However, once an Agent is removed from a Controller, you will need to deploy a new Agent to conduct remote traces from that device. The same is true for Controllers — once a Controller is removed from the CloudConnect portal, it will need to be reactivated using these instructions.

Uninstalling CloudConnect Controllers and Agents

Removing Controllers and Agents from CloudConnect does not remove the files from the devices on which they were installed. To uninstall a Controller or Agent, follow these instructions based on the device operating system:

On Windows:

Via the original installer:

  • Open the installer, then click NextRemove Check both Remove all PingPlotter settings, directories, and log files and Remove PingPlotter (all versions) license keyRemove.

Via Add/Remove Programs:

  • Find PingPlotter 5, then click ChangeNextRemove Check both Remove all PingPlotter settings, directories, and log files and Remove PingPlotter (all versions) license keyRemove.

Via the Command line:

  • Run the following command with administrator rights in CMD line:
    wmic product where name="PingPlotter 5" call uninstall
    After a few minutes, the Command Prompt should tell you the uninstallation was successful.

On macOS

To remove a PingPlotter Controller or Agent from a macOS machine, PingPlotter files need to be deleted from several default locations:

  • Open the Applications folder → PingPlotter → (right-click) Move to Trash.
  • Open Finder and press Command + Shift + G, then type /library/application support/ and hit Enter. Select the folder titled PingPlotter 5 → (right-click) Move to Trash.
  • Again, open Finder and press Command + Shift + G, then type ~/library/application support/ and hit Enter. Select the folder titled PingPlotter 5 → (right-click) Move to Trash.
