Known Issues

  • Web performance with a large number of targets (100+) and > 10 timegraphs open is below expectations
  • When multiple rows are selected with only a portion having open timegraphs, the hide/show trimegraph option does not function as expected
  • Stopping a trace from a target window does not redirect the page back to a summary
  • When failing SMTP credentials are used on an email alert, there is no indication of failure
  • In the web interface, choosing the 0.5 second interval does not function
  • Trying to test-send a text-only email alert causes the program to freeze and close
  • The ability to sort timegraphs in the web interface does not function properly
  • In the web interface, if the focus period is not set to auto, user can't change timegraph view periods

  • CloudConnect Management - Manage CloudConnect Agents from within the web interface. This includes downloading Agent builds, copying activation links, editing Agent names, and creating or deleting Agents.

New Features

  • New Web Interface — Control PingPlotter from your favorite (or possibly second-favorite) browser. You can access PingPlotter locally or remotely, allowing you to conduct traces, change settings, and view results from practically anywhere.

    The new web interface can be accessed the same way as the current interface. View the PingPlotter Manual to learn more on how to set up the web interface.

Known Issues

  • The web interface is not currently accessible from remote devices. This will be corrected in the next beta release
  • Resizing column width within the web interface does not currently work correctly
  • Adding/Removing columns within the web interface does not currently work correctly

5.7.2 Beta Release Notes

New Features

  • Flex Storage refactors the way that PingPlotter stores trace data allowing for improved performance, the ability to store data in daily or monthly intervals, and improved ease of clearing data.
  • Final Hop Only engine configuration option allows users to trace the final destination only on new traces, ignoring all intermediate hops.
  • Route length column can now be added to summaries, giving the ability to see hop count for a trace.

Improvements

  • Added floating point support for PP2 file format.
  • Improved how list files are imported, allowing for custom DNS names.
  • On startup, PingPlotter will no longer keep users from running due to malformed data.
  • Improved how PingPlotter tells users if a DNS name is invalid when starting a trace.
  • Improved how comments appear, making them easier to read.
  • Improved how PingPlotter draws Timeline Graphs.

  • Clicking on a timeline graph for a target not currently present in the route should no longer display an error message.
  • Resolved an issue causing an error message or a frozen interface when attempting to draw colored backgrounds in timeline graphs.
  • Web interface is now functioning, but currently lacks full CloudConnect functionality.

Known Issues

  • Web interface does not properly display Agent combo box in summaries or target pages.
  • Sometimes, when a machine does not have internet connectivity, the Agent ComboBox is left enabled, which can cause errors upon starting a trace.
